1-16-11 We have already gotten started for 2011 with events at KHP and Rupp Arena. We have a few more events this month and slow way down in February, come March it gets busy and stays busy for us till this fall. So if you have not gotten in touch with us about events you need coverage for, please get that information to us.
1-13-11 Looks like another big show will be coming to KY Horse Park this year. The National Horse Show will be held in 2011 at the Alltech Indoor Arena at the KY Horse Park. Looks like the KY Horse Park is doing what they wanted to do is bring in more horse events to Lexington with the up grades to the park. We at Safety TEC want to say "Great Job"!
1-10-11 We have some reports on computer now, so we may try this out some this year at some of the equestrian events to see how it works out. Most of this will only involve the stewarts and their accident/injury reports.
1-7-11 We have had a lot of response from the email for coverage for this year. Thank you all who have responded, we are getting a better look at what is going on with us for the 2011 year. It looks like it will be a busy year again for us, but we are up to the challenge.
1-3-11 Jerry has sent out an email asking for you to notify us if you are wanting us to provide coverage for your event this year. We are enforcing the within 30 days rate/fee.

12-14-10 I have been working on 2011 events already. If you have an event in 2011 and want us to provide coverage for it please send me the dates so I can get it on our calendar. Anything within 30 days will be charged $100.00 fee for being within the 30 days for each day we needed to cover your event. If you have any questions please contact me.
12-13-10 We made it through the weekend and it was pretty busy for my folks working the cheerleading event on Saturday, but other than that things were great.
12-9-10 This weekend we have a Truck & Tractor Pull at KHP, cheerleading event at Heritage Hall, and then KBA basketball games on Sunday to finish it all up. Everyone enjoy!
12-5-10 This month is looking like a slow month for us here at Safety TEC. Since Christmas is right around the corner I'm not going to say too much about it. Be safe and Happy Holidays everyone!

11-18-10 I've already started working on 2011 calendar and it seems to be going good so far. Still a little slow in the first month or two, but I know the ones who will be contacting me for some coverage soon. No WEG in 2011 so who knows what this may bring, but I assure you we are ready to handle anything that comes our way!

11-15-10 Not for sure if I should be happy or not. Think we broke a record this past weekend! We had to ship out 6 folks by EC over the weekend. It had us hoping, but over all things went really well. Just goes to show you never know what is going to happen. Also we had 4 events going on in one day this past weekend. So over all guess it was a good day!
11-9-10 Almost hump day for this week. Looking at the our calendar for the rest of the month says we have events on every Saturday for the rest of this month. If you need medical coverage for your event let us know.
11-6-10 We are on the second day of a new show started this year in the Altec Indoor arena at the KY Horse Park. So far things are going great. This show is a B level show and next weekend is a A level show.
11-4-10 Its getting to the holiday season and the equine season should be slowing down in the next few weeks. I've already started working on the 2011 season. I will be contacting everyone soon about the dates I have for your events in 2011. Once you get this information all you need to do is get back with me and this will meet your 30 day notice. I understand that you will not know about your schedule till you get closer to your show dates.
9-24-10 The count down is over. Hope everyone is ready, better grab a drink or two tonight! I can't wait to see this on tv and be able to relax not knowing or worrying when someone will need medical attention.
9-20-10 Count down to WEG T -5 days. I'm getting kinda excited. All the folks that I know and work for, "I know you all wil do a great job"! I know KY will shine!
9-13-10 Hope everyone had a safe week. Also if you haven't done so, would you take 30 seconds and remember the folks who died on 9-11-01. 343 of my brothers and sisters died that day.
9-6-10 Hope everyone has a safe Labor Day and that you are enjoying the last day of your long weekend. Next weekend will be upon us before we know it. We have two events at Rupp this upcoming weekend as well as a horse show at masterson station.
9-1-10 The first day of September and for some there is a lot todo this month. Me it is catching up on paperwork still, never knew how much paperwork I did till just the last few months. If you have any shows you need us to cover from now till the end of the year let me know. If you have dates for 2011 you want us to cover let me know and I'll get them on our calendar. Our calendar is a good way to know if we are aware of providing your medical coverage.
8-29-10 Last two circus shows today, KDA schooling event finishing up today, and then finish the weekend up with a polo match. The next week we are free with nothing on the calendar as of yet. September is going to be a slow month with WEG coming up, but Oct and Nov we are back being busy.
8-25-10 I'm looking at a big radio change for the 2011 season. I'm working on having one of my radio frequencies to use as a medical channel for all shows that we cover. What I will do is give you the frequency and everything your radio provider needs to program that channel into the radios that you are going to rent. I think this will work great for us so we will have a medical channel NO ONE else will be on and this will help us as well. If you have any question or concern about this please contact me.
8-24-10 I'm going to be in the office working on paperwork and things for the rest of the year and changes that we need to make to have things run a little better. If you need anything send me an email or give me a call.
8-23-10 Finished up and now we have a few days off before we head back and do a couple of polo games this week and we can't forget the circus this weekend at Rupp Arena.
8-17-10 Bluegrass Hunter/Jumper show has its schooling day today. Six more days of showing and then we can relax for a couple days.
8-16-10 We have the day off! Some well deserved rest for the staff since they have been going at it for 3 weeks non-stop.
8-13-10 Could be a late night at the Pony Finals, lets hope things do not go too late so we can get out of this heat.
8-9-10 Today we start the 2010 USEF Pony Finals. Looks like it could be a hot one this week, we are watching the riders for any heat related problems. Lets hope they drink a lot and eat good stuff.
7-12-10 Last week we provided coverage for the Jr. League horse show, Robert Murphy Show, Bluegrass Morgan Classic, Mini Julep, USATF-KY Track meet, and USMGA. These events were held at 4 different locations and in 3 different counties. I think our service to our clients was wonderful and there was NO complaints at this time. I have to admit I was nervous about this and was crossing my fingers that things would go smooth. It went great, and I want to say to my staff that worked these events "Thank You" for making me look good and Safety TEC looking good. You have to admit I have the best staff out there.
7-2-10 I'm gearing up for a very busy week next week. At the end of the week we will have about 5 events going on at the same time and in three different locations. This is going to be interesting and fun (i hope) then we will have some down time again for several days and then we are right back at it for 5 weeks.
7-1-10 OK, where has this year gone too? Its officially half over and it seems like we just started, is this a good thing or a bad thing? Looking forward to the long holiday weekend, wait I have an event to cover Saturday night, then I can get back to enjoying the holiday time.
6-25-10 About over with this week, we have picked up some polo matches to cover, nothing like pop up events to keep you on your toes and put you to the test.
6-15-10 Just wanted to drop a note and say we are starting our second week of Country Heir. This have been pretty smooth so far this year other than being busier than last year at this time. Next week is the MidSouth Pony Rally and Mid East Quarter Horse Show. After that we are going to enjoy several days off so we can recharge ourselves.
4-29-10 Taylor Swift playing at Rupp tonight! Hope you have tickets if you wanted them! Also the warm up on the triple crown starts tomorrow and the weather looks questionable. Stay safe and remember NO texting while driving Its the law!
4-28-10 If you check out our injury summary, those are the serious of the calls we get. Any minor thing such as band aid calls, we do a minor incident report. Those are not logged on the online report. We are at 45 minor incidents as of today.
4-24-10 I want to say thank you to all of the folks who wrote letters, made phone calls, and stood by us here at Safety TEC during this CON process. This will benefit everyone in the future so once again "Thank YOU".
4-23-10 Got a call I was waiting for today. We have been approved for a class 6 CON! You might ask what does these mean for me, well it means something to you and your events. Long story short we are able to provide ALS on site services for your events. ALS means advance life support using paramedics which can start IVs, administer medications, and intubate patients. So here in the next few weeks you will be getting a letter talking about changes here at Safety TEC.
4-7-10 We are counting down to May for the start of the crazy season. Before we get there we have to make it through April with several late week and weekend shows. We'll be able to knock the dust off our supplies and equipment and get them ready for this year. Looking a head at everything we are going to be really busy this year so make sure you contact us if you want us to provide medical coverage for your event. The within 30 day fee/rate will be strictly enforced this year again as well as in the future. We look forward to seeing all of our old and new friends this year. The count down is on.
3-22-10 Think this has been one of the busiest start of the year we have had. Things are going smooth on this end and we are looking forward to May when it all kicks off. We are covering a lot of new events this year and look forward to providing coverage for them. We also are looking forward to seeing all of the familiar faces from years past. We wouldn't be where we are today if it wasn't for you folks.
3-21-10 We just finished up the boys sweet 16 at Rupp last night. Congrats to Shelby Valley on winning the championship. They played hard to go all the way.
3-8-10 We are starting coverage for horse shows earlier this year compared to years in the past. If you are going to need us to provide coverage let us know as soon as you start planning your event and know you need medical coverage. Go to our client sheet, fill it out and that will get things going for your event.
3-1-10 We have an new injury/accident form up on the web site. This form will make it a lot easier for me to keep this report updated. I'm not going to go back right now and put Jan & Feb in it. But from today on it will be updated regularly when I do my different reports/paperwork.
2-25-10 I've got a thousand different things in the works right now. I can only hope that they all are going to help instead of hamper our progress with things. Alot of you should have gotten an email from me about the new client form that has been put on the web site. Please use this to submit any events that you may need us to cover. I've gotten a couple in already and I'm tickled about having this. Now if we need to add something let me know and we'll work on that.
1-13-10 Happy New Year to everyone! Working on getting the end of the year and start of the year stuff done so I can spend time at events when we get started. I sent out letters to everyone and have only heard back from a few. I have noticed different dates on some events and have noted that on our calendar.
12-29-09 I'm preparing for the upcoming 2010 year and have sent this letter out to many of you. Read it here before you get it in the snail mail!
12-22-09 Looks like we have the rest of the year off unless something just happens to pop up on us here. I'm working very hard on getting things out and ready for next year. It seems like something else comes up needing my attention. Hint the reason I'm turning some stuff over to my supervisors. Shhh don't tell them yet, because I haven't talked to them about it.
12-21-09 I'm going to use this year as a transition year for us here at Safety TEC. Everyone has goals and I have them as well. I've never really put them down on paper, but will be doing that these next few months while we are slow. Then when show season starts we are going to try some new things and new equipment. I'm going to try and post our goals on here so you can see how close we are to reaching them. Feel free to contact me for any information on our goals that you want more information on.
12-2-09 Here in the next few weeks you should be getting a letter from me checking on your dates and location for the 2010 season. If you are effected by the WEG games and plan on having your show at another location and want us to cover it let me know ASAP so I can make arrangements for motel rooms if that is a need.
12-1-09 Want to say sorry for not being on here updating things. I have been working on things that is very urgent in nature and has been taking up a lot of my time. When the shows ended up, I was wishing for slow time, but it doesn't look like it is going to happy. I've started working on things for the 2010 year so some of you will be hearing from me soon.
10-2-09 We are on the last few weeks of the major equestrian shows. There are a few scheduled during the winter months, but we'll have to see if they decide to go through with them. Still pretty busy the rest of the month with two and three shows on each weekend. Hope everyone has had a good show season and ready for a non-eventful winter.
8-28-09 It has been way to long since I have poted on here. I'm sorry about that! We at Safety TEC have had a lot going on. We have had 5 weeks of shows that seemed like it would never end, but they have! We have been working on getting new clients, working on radio issues, and dealing with construction like everyone else at the park. It looks like September will be a pretty busy month as well and I can only hope that this week and next we can get rested up for the next 3 crazy weeks.
6-26-09 We made it through the first two busy months of the season. Nothing major has happened except for the construction going on at the park. We are trying to stay up on the time line of the construction projects. This effects us by the way we need to respond and move injured folks around the show grounds. The next few weeks are slow for us and then we get busy again for about 7 weeks. If you need anything just let me know.
5-26-09 May has been a very busy month for us. We were tested on May the 9th with four events going on at four different locations in Lexington. We didn't miss a beat. Things went really well and all clients are very happy. Looking ahead to June we have a slow down and so far we will have about a week off at the end of the month to maybe grab a quick get away. We have also put on some new staff to cover events and we are in the process of training them. So if you see a new face out please introduce yourself and fill them in on your position with your event. As always I'm just a email or phone call away if you need anything.
5-26-09 Safety Coordinators: I am working on having all of our staff trained to be able to be a safety coordinator. This way when you have Safety TEC, Inc. providing coverage you will have more staff you can trust as safety coordinators.
4-16-09 ***IMPORTANT Information***
Our new rates will go into effect July 1, 2009. Think I have been mentioning this for some time so hopefully this isn't a shock to anyone. Any questions let me know.
4-16-09 Hope everyone made the tax deadline! It is less than a month before the kick off of the 2009 show season. Even though we have already covered some events I consider May the start of the season. If you have taken time and looked at our calendar you will notice that we are going to be very busy this year. I'm working on putting on more staff to provide our service to everyone who needs it. So you will be seeing some new faces this year, but you will get the same great coverage you have always gotten from us in the past. Will we be moving in at the park April 30 and will be there till the end of the year. If you have any questions do not hesitate to call or email Jerry.
7-24-08 For those of you who have not let me know about shows in the last 3 months you need to be doing so. Just check out the caledar to see if we have you down. I'm going to be working on a letter to send out to everyone for 2009 with changes that will be MANDATORY starting Jan 1 2009.
6-22-08 One of my favorite events went on last night. I look forward to this event every year. The donkey races! Its always fun and the food was good and then the music was great. Hats off to Frankie for a good party this year.
4-19-08 On the breifing page I said that the plan wasn't tested. By no means was that meant to be negative. I was just pointing out that no emergency happened and we didn't have to see if it worked. I'm sure it would have it the need for it to arise. It was planned out well.
4-18-08 I've been saying I'm putting helpful stuff on the site for our clients. I've got our emergency response plan(s) here now. Depending on which services you have us provide, depends on which emergency response plan you need to use. If we provide our service to you and it is not at the Kentucky Horse Park you need to look at this ERP. For the events we provide our services at the Kentucky Horse Park you need to look at this ERP. Then if we over see the ambulance at your event I'm working on an overview on how that works and will place that on the web soon. I'm still working on locations for storm shelters at KHP to pass on to you all.
4-17-08 We have been working with a ambulance service in Lexington that can provide direct transport to hospitals in the area. We can set this up for you and over see the operation so things run smooth. If we set up the ambulance we coordinate the replacement of another one if the one on the event grounds has to transport to the hospital. The on site ambulance will not transport unless it deems the patient needs to be transported ASAP. Most of the time by the time the patient needing transported is packaged and ready for transport the backup ambulance is getting to the event we are covering. 4-9-08 I have a few folks who call and ask if I can come and talk with them about medical care or coverage. I'm always willing to have a input on things. I've always felt it is good to be on the same note before an emergency happens. During an emergency is NOT the time to test anything. With that said here is some things to look for during your event. I'm going to try and keep questions that has been asked to me here on the web site so anyone can come and look at them.
